Kāpēc LVĢMC rīkojas pretēji Pasaules meteoroloģijas organizācijas pamatnostādnēm?
Pēdējā laikā neskaitot mūsu valdības cirku, viena interesanta problēma klejo internetos. Par mūsu pašu meteoroloģijas centra šmucīgo izrīcību nogriežot pieeju radaru informācijai tiem, kas negrib maksāt lielas naudiņas. Tas pats par sevi nebūtu nekas neparasts, lai arī muļķīgs veids kā pelnīt, sitot beigtu zirgu. Mani vairāk piesaistīja cita informācija par to, ka meteo centrs vienojas ar citu valstu radaru turētājiem, lai tie arī liedz mums šo radaru informāciju, nobloķējot Latvijas IP adreses. Man šķiet interesanti, ka LVĢMC rīkojas pretēji tās organizācijas nostādnēm, ar dalību kurā ļoti lepojas.
Pasaules meteroloģijas organizācijas statement on the role and operation 7. punkts vēsta:
Cooperation between various organizations is essential to provide governments with these services. Partnerships between NMHSs and academia, government departments, international and non-governmental organizations, and where appropriate and possible, the private sector, help society make better decisions based on more complete and accurate weather, water and climate information. These partnerships provide better data coverage and information processing, higher resolution models, and more precise and useful specialized products for societal benefits, including opportunities to support better government and other decision makers regarding safety, economics, and security. NMHSs are encouraging these partnerships by adopting open and unrestricted data policies which make their information easy to access in real time, in useful forms, and at low cost.

Mani ļoti satrauc tas, ka problēmas tiek risinātas, nevis ražojot jaunus produktus, piedāvājot iPhone aplikācijas, kas datus pasniedz lietotājam parastajam saprotamā līmenī vai piedāvājot citus aizraujošus un vilinošus risinājumus, bet gan aizliedzot, nogriežot, ieguldot enerģiju tajā, lai aizliegtu piekļuvi informācijai, kurai aizliegt piekļuvi viņiem nav morālu tiesību.
Un vēl mani satriec tas, ka kaimiņvalstu centri pakļāvās šādiem “lūgumiem”.
